What's in the mural?
One would be forgiven in thinking that an Olympic gold medal, a dog wearing a racing hat, a canal boat and sweets can’t possibly have much in common.
Well, think twice… Take a look back in time in the history of our local area, it’s all there!
The aim when we created Clarnico Club, was to build something special to celebrate the diverse history of Hackney Wick and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and what best than a mural?
In this piece, we pay homage to some of the many places and events that shape the area: Mo Farah’s gold medals at the London 2012 Olympics, Hackney Stadium used for speedway and greyhound racing (hence the dog with the helmet), the flora in Victoria Park, the canals that meander around this East London hot-spot, and the nods to the historic Clarnico Sweets Factory.
Massive thanks to Global Street Art Agency for bringing this to life so vividly!
Pop in, grab a coffee and have a look for yourself, Clarnico Club is open every day.
